This is the news, yo.
HEY GUYS, CHECK OUT HARBINGER.
We decided to start fresh with Doctrine. :) But don't worry. Doctrine will still be postable-in for the next month so that you can RP out your characters leaving and such, as well as grab your graphics!
Rio de Tialoc is the largest of the two rivers that flow through Doctrine. This expansive body of moving water passes through three of Doctrine’s estates: Vedal Edge, Ursoni Limits, and Cactus Highway. It’s orange tinted current is slow and hypnotizing. In some areas it actually swells up and appears to be a lake. The largest of these “illusion lakes” is Goldfish Harbor. *CONTAMINATED WITH ASH - UNDRINKABLE*
Northern Ursoni is located in western Doctrine and claims the shores of nearly half of Rio De Tialoc. There once were high towering skyscrapers, but now all that’s left of the marvelous buildings of man are the stout remains. The streets are still full of rusty cars that are now covered in thick red and brown dust. Creatures, including the wolves, take shelter in these interestingly cozy dens. Territory of Cereno.
| Southern Ursoni is also located in western Doctrine. However this region does not touch the river. Many of the animals here rely on shifting puddles and, the daring, take a drink from cesspools. This section of the city doesn’t have as many homes. Instead the buildings sport large windows, some cracked others in good condition—museums to the obsolete products of man. Yellow and obnoxious lime green taxis litter the wide streets. | |
| Tall mesas, or plateaus, rise far above sea level and often seem mountainous. This chain splits Doctrine in half. Two river systems have carved their way through the Shelves, Void Rapids (in the south) and Río de Tialoc (in the north). There are patches of vegetation dotting the sharp upward base of most plateaus, while in most crevasses between two plateaus there are large pits of sand. Because of the high elevation this strip of land is more vulnerable to spontaneous lightning storms, rarely including rain. The wind always tags along throwing around sand with it. | |
Vedi de Rescate, "Rescue of Vedi", occupies a small portion of the Taper Shelves named the Puniceas Canyon. The canyon is named so for the red colouration it sports, possibly due to the high iron contents of the rocks. Surprisingly, while the canyon is often exposed to the sun, it does not fall victim to the high temperatures of the desert, as the cliff faces provide ample shade for the majority of the canyon, making it thrive with life. Territory of Crux Grotto.
A thin strip of land called Cactus Highway separates Ursoni Limits from Vedal Edge and the Arch Desert. As the name implies, cacti are seen miles around. This area isn’t the most barren of places, as it does rank above Arch Desert. Lizards are the dominate life form as they can easily find shelter and food here. Not to mention the surprising amount of stones baking in the sun. To the far north, Rio de Tialoc passes through. A few springs spontaneously appear from natural causes, but quickly evaporate after a few days. You must be quick to catch these random occurrences, or face the cactus whose water is safely guarded by sharp needles. Territory of Adega.
Northern Vedal Edge is located along the north east corner of Doctrine. This very area is the most vegetated in the entire district. Clusters of Mesquite trees make it the most desirable place to be when temperatures reach their normal desert heat. The steady Rio de Tialoc flows in a jig-jag formation through the entire estate. Hundreds of years ago this particular plot was once called Tenochtitlan, the center of the Aztec Empire. *COVERED WITH ASH - CAUTION WHEN TRAVERSING*
Southern Vedal Edge is also located along the north east corner of Doctrine. Unlike the northern section of Vedal, the area is less convenient. Gnarly trees and thick shrubs make traveling through tedious and in some cases, painful. Luck brings some wary travelers to spontaneous bogs and with it a refreshing drink. The forests are often dark, most creatures here are well adapted to the lighting. If you don’t have excellent night vision, this area is definitely not suggested for travel. *COVERED WITH ASH - CAUTION WHEN TRAVERSING*
| A vast area of golden sand otherwise known as Arch Desert covers most of southeast Doctrine. The only plant life around is those that are less than two feet high. The only access to water is way south. Even then, the violent Void Rapids is a daring task to steal a drink from. | |
Void Rapids is a very violent river that bends it's way through the northeastern part of Doctrine. The current is so strong that many creatures dare not drink from it's water, as there is a high risk they'll be washed away. Washed to their death or into a foreign land where they ever so rarely return alive. Territory of Kingdom of Tornade.
