The dank air, though heavy, picked up leaves and paper. The two objects tangoed in violent spirals, swooping about. The clouds were ominous, pregnant with rain that was certain to soon be delivered on the heads of all who currently dwelled the seemingly vacant, barren “city”. Rust, filth and grime adorned every point of street drainage, every dysfunctional streetlamp and automobile. The city appeared to be so dejected and unkempt that not even a torrential downpour could purge the muck that masked it.

The integrity of a particular taxi car was questioned when a gust of furious wind rushed through its metal bones, the ferocity of the breeze betraying the tremendous severity of the pending storm. The Keeper had been resting peacefully in the comfortable shelter of a beaten and worn taxi. A combination of the dampness in the air, and the screaming of the wind had gradually awoken her. She sighed, and upon inhaling a scent of rain flooded her nose – a smell that was welcomed, as it masked the unappealing odor of grime that seeped from the seats of the taxi.

Rhy cast her eyes to the sky and observed as drops of rain began to plummet from the dark clouds above, the gray abyss blurring with movement as the brutality of the storm increased. She simpered delicately at the thought of the wolves who were straying in this wet mess. The air had told so clearly of a storm, only those who were completely oblivious or who actually enjoyed getting poured on would be roaming around, drenched.

Nonchalantly, she laid her head gingerly on her forepaws and shut her eyes, absorbing the sounds and scents of the storm.

only the most depressed of the adegans would be striding through the storm. the wound on her leg leaked of puss and blood, sending violent shocks of pain through her leg, and spine. she barely put weight on the tender, weak leg. the only weight that was pressed to it was just enough to quickly move her right leg to the ground before the left. the downpoor saddened her more, her audits and tail drooping. the paws nearly dragged the ground and her head was low. she wasn't trying to hurry back; not like she could anyhow. the crackling of the lightning and the roar of the thunder scared her, and she wanted to hide, so she moved towards a near by taxi, not picking up the scent of a wolf. she hobbled towards it, one of the pieces of paper smacking into the side of her face. stopping, she shook it off and tore it, letting the duo fly off.

striding closer to the taxi, she put her forepaws on the open window, spotting a wolf. not scenting any danger, she asked. would you mind if i joined you? she asked, her voice deeper than normal, and saddened. her trek to cereno could wait for the storm to pass. kitannii had been on her mind so much lately, if wolves could cry, she would be doing so bout now.

speach;

The rain battered the roof of the taxi ruthlessly and rhythmically. Though Keeper would have commonly found it irritating, on this occasion it appeared to have an exceptionally calming effect. This effect was fortunate for the visitor – who indefinitely did not need any trouble with the condition they were in.

Welcoming the scent of something other than rotting materials, Keeper shifted to the right and allowed the wolf some space. Her golden eyes were shielded slightly due to a sudden tiredness and comfort she felt in the presence of someone who appeared so helpless. Keeper Rhy was completely at ease. “So, tell me; where did that wound come from, stranger? And what are you doing out wandering around when signs of a storm were so clearly painted across the sky?” She questioned, and glanced lazily at Indium, examining her with little thought. Subconsciously she was aware that such a vulnerable creature would be a both a flawless test subject and suitable punching bag.
