Cairo Halistair
Character's Profile

Father - Dead
Onsite Relations:
N/A
Name: Cairo Halistair Alias: Cairo, Cai (to certain people)
Sex: Male Breed: Mackenzie Valley
Age: Three M/O/B: May
Appearance:
Cairo is a large enough wolf, though he's not overly bulky by anyone's standards. In fact, he tends to be on the slightly lanky side, having a lean, muscled build instead of a bulkier set to his frame. With long legs, and a toned body, Cairo looks as if he's built for speed and stealth, and he is. Whenever the wolf walks, not a single sound can be heard, unless he's being careless with his steps. Generally, however, Cairo walks as if he's walking on eggshells, carefully and cautiously.

Having a pelt of an average length, getting thicker and longer around his neck and ruff, Cairo doesn't seem to be a wolf whose looks are extraordinary. Even the coloring of it isn't all that spectacular, being a thick, dark black in hue. However, the black isn't solid. He has dusky grays, and pale creams throughout it, though even these hues aren't solid except in certain areas. For the most part, however, Cairo is a dark colored wolf, easily blending in with the shadows. His tail is thickly furred as well, perhaps even more so than his ruff and neck.

Cairo's eyes are what really stand out, however. Being a deep, dark teal in color, they're quite pretty when you look at them. Though they rarely show emotion, they tend to flicker in time with his thoughts, perhaps getting lighter or darker depending on the mood of his thoughts. Still, the deep, pure tone of them rivals even the purity of a gem, or any precious stone, and it seems sometimes as though his eyes are what make him memorable, if not his short temper and personality.

Considering he doesn't have any scars, Cairo is a fairly clean looking wolf, with pristine fur most of the time. He keeps himself held very properly, never slumping forward, or allowing his posture to slip. However, he does seem to have a bit of an informal air about him, simply because he has a tendency to hunch his shoulders ever so slightly whenever he moves to sit down. Cairo's gait isn't exactly smooth, either. If he's at a dead sprint, or even when he's walking, he has a slight limp to his walk, and it seems at first that he favors his left side.
Eye Color: Teal Eye Shade: Dark Fur Color: Black
Personality:
tough guy | respectful | short tempered | loyal | impulsive | determined | Laid back | Fairly easy to get along with

Cairo is your average male, for the most part, having his fair share of blunders and seemingly idiotic mistakes. However, he does have his own quirks, otherwise, Cairo wouldn't be Cairo.

Cairo has a general air of being a tough guy. He doesn't really show his emotions often, nor does he really take the time to think about how his actions might affect another's emotion. The wolf does what is pratical, like any guy would, and then deals with the repercussions later. As well, he doesn't like to admit he needs help for anything, and even when he's injured badly enough that he needs to see a medic, generally will make up some excuse about how it looks worse than it really is. Never one to willingly give up his pride, he generally needs to be forced to actually get help, instead of willingly taking it.

However, Cairo does make it a point to be respectful to everyone, including she wolves. He doesn't wish to be insulting to anyone, and while sometimes he has to hold back a sarcastic, or cruel remark, he does so fairly well, choosing instead to make acquaintances instead of enemies. When dealing with females, he's always had an ingrained sort of respect for them, mostly because his mother taught him they were just as important in life as anyone else. He doesn't always see eye to eye with the female perspective, however. Just because he won't outright insult them, doesn't mean he always agrees with them.

Unfortunately, Cai doesn't necessarily have the best temper in the world. He can generally keep it in check for the most part, and when you're beginning to push his control, he'll give you a warning. If you continue to push it, however, he generally snaps, showing that his temper is rather short. When he's angry, he doesn't turn violent, he simply stops caring about what might come out of his maw. Instead of carefully avoiding hurtful words and angry remarks, he'll let them fly with wild abandon, oftentimes damaging his relationship with the wolf, and possibly even causing the wolf to have some sort of breakdown. He always apologizes after one of his snaps, but sometimes sorry can't fix everything. As well, he tends to be impulsive, following his own desires, and not always thinking things through completely.

Even though he possesses a short temper, Cairo is still fairly laid back and easy to get along with. When he's not being pushed past his limits of self control, the brute tends to have an amiable air about him, often having a grin plastered on his face and a friendly wag in his tail. He's incredibly easy to talk to, as well, when you're not trying to infuriate him, and you can tell anything to him without the fear of having it spread across the lands like wildfire. His fierce sense of loyalty to those who trust him, and those who count on him would never allow him to do such a thing, and he would never jeopardize something as valuable as trust. Especially when it's trust by his own family, or what he views to be his family.
Pack: Crux Grotto Rank: Kappa Assignment: Warrior / Spy
History:
Cairo was born to a pair of loving parents, though he only knew them by Father and Mother. The two lovebirds were blessed with three pups, including Cairo. The other two pups were named Luxor and Arish. Luxor was a scrawny looking pup, a runt from the very beginning, and also the other male in the group. Arish was a pretty she wolf, appearing to be mostly regular gray wolf in appearance, other than the black on the back of her ears, and her tail tip. Luxor was nearly identical to Cairo, except for the white patch over his left eye.

As the pups grew up, they had to deal with their father being gone quite often. He was a devoted pack member, and with the Alpha's constant bloodthirstiness, the pack was at war nine times out of ten. Generally there was no competition, and Cairo's pack crushed whoever they might be fighting, though there were always battle wounds and scars to be found. Most of these found their way to Cairo's father, somehow.

The three pups were raised mostly by their mother, with the knowledge that their father was a valiant, honorable wolf who did everything he could to serve his pack and protect his family. It was through this knowledge that Cairo and Arish grew to love their father, though Luxor remained oddly different from their opinions. Whenever the brute would come home, Cairo and Arish would run to see him, while Luxor remained near his mother, glaring soundly at the wolf he had grown to dislike.

It wasn't until the pups were about six months old, that havoc really began to set in.

The pack had been warring more and more recently, with the Alpha realizing that he could very well take over more lands if he wanted to. The corrupt wolf wanted as much power as he could hold, and he was determined to get it, one way or another. When Cairo's father challenged the idea of another fight, speaking out against the war, the Alpha lost his temper, and perhaps lost his sanity for a while. He seemed outraged that anyone would want something else for the pack, or want something safer for their family. That night, Cairo's father was brutally murdered by two of the Alpha's enforcers.

Cairo's mother, Cairo, and Arish were devastated. Luxor tried comforting them as best he could, but didn't do well because of the fact he hadn't enjoyed their father's presence whatsoever. Eventually the wounds healed, but Cairo became short tempered at times, and often very snappish, and Arish withdrew a bit from everybody. The only one who remained unaffected by their ordeal was Cairo's mother, and it was only because she knew better than to seem unhappy about what the Alpha had done.

In time, Cairo grew to adulthood, fleshing out into a brilliant young wolf, strong and muscle bound, just like his father. Arish was large, but still slender and pretty, while Luxor was lanky and thin. He didn't have the raw power that his brother did, still being the runt of the litter, nor did he have the slender look that his sister did. He was awkward, stuck in between. Within the next six months, Cairo was put through a hard conditioning routine, and he was chastised hard by the Alpha. The wolf knew Cairo Halistair had the raw potential to be a wonderful general, just like his father had, and knew that if Cairo wanted to take the pack from him, he could without trying. The Alpha had aged, and was going on his seventh year now. He was weakening, and it was only sheer fear that kept some of the younger upstarts from taking over.

That changed when one day, Cairo snapped, and attacked the Alpha. At the time, he had no intentions of taking over the pack. But when the Alpha had summoned his mother, and requested that she birth him a litter for heirs, Cairo flew off the handle, and launched into a fullblown battle. The Alpha went down fairly quickly, and before long there was no life left within the old body. When the realization of what he had done struck him, Cairo was terrified, though the other wolves seemed happy enough, prancing about with sheer amusement. Even the enforcers seemed relieved that the wolf had finally been taken down. Cairo's mother calmed the big wolf down, though that very same night he left, striking out for somewhere else.

It wasn't long before he reached Doctrine District.
